2006 December Officer of the Month Officer Tige Thompson The December Officer of the Month is Tige Thompson. From December 6 through December 25 Tige worked ten 12-hour shifts. During this time he made seven arrests resulting in charges that included driving with a suspended license, assault, criminal mischief, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. He also issued three traffic citations and twelve written traffic warnings. On December 21, 2006, Tige observed a traffic violation and stopped a vehicle on Collier Boulevard. Tige discovered the driver was from North Fort Myers and questioned him regarding his activities on Marco Island. The driver’s story included information that he had dropped off his fiancé and did not seem plausible. Tige persisted in his questioning and located the fiancé. He talked to her and to several other individuals and obtained several items of evidence. Tige concluded his investigation by arresting the driver he originally stopped, and the woman he claimed was his fiancée, for conducting unlicensed escort services. |
